YOUNG PEOPLE & CLIMATE CHANGE

Asking a young person in Nigeria How much do you know about Climate Change? would trigger responses such as What is Climate change; What does Climate change means; Climate change is implemented by the UN; That is an Oyibo (Western) problem and we have no business with global warming. Hmmm. So you think? Is that really true!  Research shows that the level of ignorance and abstractness of climate change awareness among young people has not only affected their lack of knowledge but also reduced their effective contributions toward actions to address Climate change. "I USE PENNIES TO SEND GIRLS TO SCHOOL IN DEVELOPING COUNTRIES" Davinia Davi James

WHO IS DAVINIA DAVI JAMES? Im a fulltime activist that believes I can and will change the world. I was born and raised in the beautiful island of Jamaica until I was 18 years old. Growing up, I was fortunate to experience a life where I saw life through the eyes of the opulent and another, where I saw life through the eyes of the poor with their violent surroundings adding to their distress. My mother was a teenage mom who struggled with caring for my two older brothers and me. In addition, having a partial high school education didnt make life easy for her. At 3 months old I became very ill and my mom seeking help led me to the steps of a community activist/village mother. This compassionate soul and her husband took the liberty of taking care of me. Since that night, I didnt go back to live with my mom until over a decade later. Shortly after I entered my new home, my mom moved to one of Jamaicas largest cities in search of work. Her plan was to find a good job that would allow h...
