SEED AMONGST THORNS

BAD COMPANY ARE LIKE THORNS TO THE PRODUCTIVITY OF YOUR CHILDREN�S FUTURE

There is popular verse from the bible that is frequently used by individuals of different ethnicities, religious alike which says �Bad company corrupt good manners (1Cor.15v33)�. This article is directed to young teens and indirectly to their guardians and parents to be watchful and conscious of the individuals or group of individuals your wards/children associate with. I would like to start off with a story I came across of a 14 year old boy by the name Joshua Smith (Allison, 2015). Although he was brought up in Detroit, had several confrontations with his mother, Tamiko Robinson who has worked so hard for him to succeed in life. This involves his association, local thugs he tried to hang out with in order to get some �street cred�. As a result of her motherly concern about the future of her child, she carried out some pertinent measures amongst which were him not permitted to have any association with the gang kids. In response, he ran away but returned. Surprisingly, no one would have suspected what this young chap would have conceived in his heart. At 3:00am, while his mother was sleeping, shot her severally, taking the car for an escape route. Unfortunately, he was later reprimanded by the police.
My concern is this, where was he between the period of his leaving to his return home? Probably, associating with the same gang of kids. One thing is certain; our lives are on a daily basis influenced by other people either negatively or positively. In addition, likened to pollens their opinionated views, characters are being blown into redefining our everyday decisions and perspectives (Thompson, 2011). Furthermore, it is important to note that either surrounding yourself as a teenager or ensuring your kids are amongst responsible or disciple wards (of which there are) will yield a productive harvest of good fruits in the nearest future. Unfortunately, the young boy in our story didn�t do that, as it could be thought that he received wrong, crafty counsel/advice from the gang kids to scheme the death of his mother.

In do wish to conclude that, associating oneself with the wrong/bad company is like a seed fallen amongst thorns; and if such wards grow up with such groups would only lead their future being choked; the they would be led astray, yielding no productivity nor fruit in their future endeavors. Choose your friends wisely� Your future depends on it. Cheers!!!
