WILL YOU STILL SAY YES?

'We learn that orphans are easier to ignore before you know their names. They are easier to ignore before you see their faces. It is easier to pretend they are not real before you hold them in your arms. But once you do, everything changes.'---- David Platt

It happened that on September 5, 2016, in commemoration of the international Charity day, Teenz Global Foundation visited an orphanage home in Lugbe Abuja, Zion Orphanage and Widows Home, to have an interactive interview with the orphanage.

Thirteen years ago, Mrs. Blessing Williams gave birth to her long conceived dream, Zion Orphanage Home in Abuja, but what started as a struggle seems to be, still a struggling effort in the present day, in which only her passionate heart has made to strive. The Orphanage as of now, has a total of 25 children, in which some of these children were given to her by the government, some were picked up by the orphanage and some children dropped at the orphanage by people. With this charity work, The Orphanage has little or no help from the government even though the government has long promised the Orphanage association to be paid monthly yet no result of that promise has been seen, but The Orphanage owes her thanks to the giving hearts of individuals and institutions.

The Orphanage has no power to give the children up for adoption but adoption is only accessible through the Welfare Institution in which they will contact them for children. Zion Orphanage Home is responsible for making these children a man and woman of impact, setting them up and making them responsible.  Most of the children has come to accept and appreciate the orphanage as their home, some are in the universities, some secondary schools but most of them are still little and are in the primary school.

However, even though people bring gift items to the orphanage which mainly consist of Rice, Noodles, Biscuits and drinks, the children are still in dire need of proteinaceous food, swallows as they cant be eating rice and other carbohydrate food all day long. Drugs also is another important need of the children, they need supplements and most of them were picked up malnourished and dying, food alone cant revive them. School fees and hospital bills needs to paid, school fees especially since they all need to go to school and they rarely get financial donation. Most of these elude the minds of people that bring gift items. The orphanages are mostly remembered during festive period and forgotten other days.

Alone we cant change the world or bring the desired change we want, but if with the contribution of you and me, the world will be a better and conducive place for us. These kids didnt bargain to become orphans or homeless but you and I can bargain and decide if we want them to remain in that state. Teenz Global Foundations mission to Zion Orphanage home is to bring and awaken the special needs of the orphans to the world.

Even after knowing my needs, will you still say yes?
